In the use of precision spot welding head welding technology for electronic components, the solder materials used to combine the parent materials are mainly tin or tin-lead, which has the following advantages.
When the precision spot welding head is welded at room temperature, the pure solder is a plastic self-annealing alloy, which can absorb stress under the condition of work hardening or fatigue and damage due to stress cycling. The unique function of this precision spot welding head for soldering enables it to connect materials with different thermal expansion coefficients, rigidity and strengths without putting forward some typical technical requirements for mechanical assembly parts. For example, the planning of printed circuit boards violates all structural planning guidelines regarding stress concentration, material strength, load distribution, and vibration resistance. If there is no soft solder connection method and its stress connection ability, it is impossible to have printed circuit boards as known today. If other stress-yielding soldering methods, such as brazing or other soldering methods, they may cause damage to the laminate, the line strip is dropped and the glass- metal seal of the on-board components is damaged.
Since soft soldering can be soldered at a lower temperature, plastic and soldered components are usually not deformed or deteriorated due to heat.
Because the equipment used for soft soldering of precision spot welding head is simple, the material is cheap and the soldering process is controllable, so the soldering method is particularly economical. In the near future, as long we use wires, semiconductor equipment and insulating materials to make circuits based on the principles of electronic and magnetic pulses, the soft soldering of precision spot welding heads is an indispensable technical means.
The fine spot welding soft tin welding process has the following characteristics that other connection methods do not have:
①Able to weld multiple solder joints at the same time (that is, group soldering can be implemented)
②It can be welded at a lower temperature, and the thermal damage to the PCB and electronic components is small
③Good electrical conductivity at the junction;
④High-reliability joints can be completed
⑤The joints are reworked and repaired easily
⑥Suitable for various soldering methods such as soldering iron soldering, dip soldering, wave soldering, and reflow soldering
⑦The welding materials and equipment used are cheaper and therefore economical
