Precautions for spot welding head welding

Spot welding head is device used in spot resistance welding equipment to directly touch the object to be welded, and it is considered that the object to be welded directly supplies current and pressure. The following is an introduction to the precautions for use:

1.Empty solder: empty solder is not allowed to dischange without touching any metal. When the spot welding head is discharged, a high temperature of thousands of degrees will occur. If no metal body is touched, the spot welding head will be at high temperature for long time, because it is easy to form oxidation when air is touched, and a black oxide layer will occur. So as to reduce the service life of welding head and the welding function.

2.Avoid sticking conductive foreign matter in the  cavity of the discharge part of the spot welding head. If conductive foreign matter is stuck, the welding effect will decrease.

3.Avoid short-term consecutive operations.

There are many types of spot welding heads, including butt welding head and micro-spot welding heads.

Butt welding head

It is divided into upper and lower parts. When welding, the object to be welded is located in the center of the upper and lower parts. The current passes through the object to be welded, and heat is generated on the object to be welded. Sometimes the heat is generated mainly through the object to be welded and the touch surface of the welding head. See which part of the current loop has greater resistance. In the current loop, if the resistance of that part is large, then the heat mainly occurs in that part. Therefore, in the butt welding, the resistance of the welding head is very important.

Micro welding head

The micro-spot welding head is the corresponding welding head of the micro-electronic spot welding machine. Its characteristic is that the welding head and the welding machine have formed a loop. The current passes through this loop, and the heat is generated at the upper end of the welding head. The welding object does not automatically heat up. The welding head touches the welding object and instantly transfers heat to the welding object, melting the welding object and welding it to another touching welding object.
